Joint Advent concert with Cambridge University Symphony Chorus
Saturday, 07 December 2019 at 6.00 pm
This concert will be the “return match” of Cambridge University Symphony Chorus in Aachen. After Cappella Aquensis’ wonderful and very successful visit to Cambridge in April, the singers from Cambridge now have the chance to visit Aachen. The highlight of this tour will once again be a joint a-cappella concert. This is a musical event you should definitely not miss!
We will perform four-part to eight-part sacred motets by Bach, Gorecki, Hammerschmidt and others as well as English Christmas Carols.
Direction: Ulrich Brassel and Richard Wilberforce.
We will perform Händel’s oratorio “Messiah” on Saturday 08 June at 7:30 pm in a German arrangement by W.A. Mozart, written in 1789.
For this wonderful concert, we will team up with Ars Cantandi, the Sinfonieorchester Aachen and several top soloists. We are looking forward to seeing you there!
Visit not only our concerts, but also our rehearsals! We’re always looking for motivated singers of all voice parts, who love to sing and enjoy working on their choral repertoire.
This concert marks the first of a two-part exchange which will see CU Symphony Chorus make a visit to Aachen in December for the “return match” with Cappella Aquensis on Saturday 7 December.
With choral motets by John Rutter, Morten Lauridsen and others.
Under the direction of Thomas Beaujean
Krönungssaal des Aachener Rathauses
