{"id":13,"date":"2017-06-26T22:41:45","date_gmt":"2017-06-26T20:41:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cappella-aquensis-t1.eu\/?page_id=13"},"modified":"2023-10-03T22:51:18","modified_gmt":"2023-10-03T20:51:18","slug":"chor","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/cappella-aquensis.de\/gb\/chor\/","title":{"rendered":"The Choir"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Cappella Aquensis <\/strong>was formed in 1963 by a splitting of the Aachen Cathedral Choir.<\/p>\n<p>As a free concert choir with about 45 members, we have an extensive <a href=\"https:\/\/cappella-aquensis.de\/repertoire\/\">repertoire\u00a0<\/a>of secular and religious choral music. We perform not only ambitious and international a-cappella music from the Renaissance all the way to the modern era (ca. twice a year), but also large orchestral oratories and masses (every 2 years).<\/p>\n<p>In contrast to most other choirs in and around Aachen, we provide the musical accompaniment to High Mass in Aachen Cathedral \u2013 singing Latin masses and motets \u2013 about 3-4 times per year. In addition, we regularly travel with the choir to perform elsewhere, both in Germany and abroad.
